Announcing SimplyMEPIS-32 and SimplyMEPIS-64 Beta3 Release

Morgantown, WV, Jan 12, 2007 -- MEPIS LLC has released Beta3 of SimplyMEPIS-32 and SimplyMEPIS-64 Version 6.0-4. This is an essential release for anyone who encountered vidoe problems when running SimplyMEPIS-32 or SimplyMEPIS-64 from CD. SimplyMEPIS is for everyday computer users and software professionals alike.
Warren Woodford of MEPIS said "We've received lots of feedback and suggestions. So development is taking longer than I expected. On the other hand, every day SimplyMEPIS is getting better than it has ever been before. I expect to finish the improvements to the MEPIS utilities and the SimplyMEPIS Assistant for OSX during the next week."
As of Beta 3, SimplyMEPIS includes updates to several packages including Firefox 2.0.0.1 and kde 3.5.3. Bugs have been fixed in splashy, video detection, network configuration, long passwords, skype on 64 bit, klamav, installation, and more.
The ISO image is available for download in the 'testing' subdirectory at the MEPIS Subscriber's Site and at MEPIS public mirrors. Satisfied users are encouraged to make a contribution or make a purchase at the MEPIS store. Your support helps offset the costs of producing SimplyMEPIS 6.0 and funds further development of MEPIS Linux.
