Will ntfs-3g be available with MEPIS 6.0-4?

Considering that ntfs-3g seems pretty stable now (although it's still in an advanced beta), I think it would a very popular move for the forthcoming new MEPIS release to include ntfs-3g and the associated fuse packages by default.

This would certainly be a big encouragement for Windows users to migrate to MEPIS, and as you know, some other distros have included it for quite a while.

I doubt it

I too think it is quite well developed and while I would like to see it included, I still think it is a wee way off being classed as ready for global usage with issues like the inability to share a drive or partition mounted with fuse.

I have been watching it for some time and I might even give it another try for accessing USB hard disks. During my last trial, gnome systems could access usb drives 80% of the time, but a kde system had not yet been introduced.
