livecd install user name

I always use "me" (without the quotes of course) as my username on my machines. However, when I try to install Mepis from the live CD, it won't let me use that as it says it already exists. So, I have to use something different to continue then use the usermod command after booting from the hard drive. I don't know if it matters, but this is an install over a previous distro so the /home/me directory exists, and I choose not to format it. My / and /home partitions are separated.

That is just a warning, you can push through.
Use the same password and your /home will be there unchanged if you not format it.
