No card showing up

Hi i just installed Mepis and i would like to say it was amazing, my sound wich usually takes me 30 min to an hour was ALREADY THERE! but i needed to install my wireless usb card to have internet, i tried compiling open soruce drivers but when i said make all it gave me an error saying no rule to make module? So instead i found my windows driver, i got ndiswrapper to install, and ran ndiswrapper -l
my driver=
rt73 driver installed, hardware present

but when i ran modprobe ndiswrapper, and then ran iwconfig it didnt show up!
Anyhelp is appreciated

reboot?

It should work -- sometimes it helps to reboot or type
depmod -a
before
modprobe ndiswrapper

If this does not bring up the lights on the card, try ejecting it and re-inserting it.

Which card do you have (model and version)?
What version of Mepis are you using?

Another possibility is that you are trying to use a 64-bit driver in a 32-bit install, or vice versa.

(Actually, I just tried to help topcat in this forum with a D-Link DWL-G122 ver. C1 which has this same chipset, and we were not successful)

use the wiki http://www.mepis.org/docs
great forum http://www.mepislovers.com

Lol

I rebooted and it worked after the command dhclient! (im in mepis now!) I got it working easy, but i noticed i had to add a folder named rt73 in /etc/ndiswrapper/ i dont know why but after that ndiswrapper worked flawlessly

Just a simple guy looking for simple solutions to this pit called earth
