Since doing the last update, my system's login screen has identified my beta install as beta4, even though I have not seen any official announcement.

One of the casualties I found of the update was kwallet has stopped working. Anybody else found this??

kwalletmanager

I still have kwalletmanager

I don't use it

Fixed - mepis updates fixed the issue

I did nothing other than run synaptic, update the package cache and installed all the updates, then restarted because most of them were kernel related. When I restarted, all was well again.

kwallet

i think that the best thing that could happen to kwallet is it could go to NZ and then drop off the face of the earth. I remove that package as quickly as possible.

Hmmm...

I've been testing kmail and konqueror along with Jon (remember his post about it) in place of firefox and thunderbird. I wanted to keep all things in their default state. I too am not that fond of kdewallet, but to test fairly, one must use the defaults, then comment on the changes that suited best.

brave man

that makes you a brave man.
i've been testing kmail too
$ kmail -v
Qt: 3.3.6
KDE: 3.5.5
KMail: 1.9.5
and this version is quite stable, much faster with the spam sorting and has not dumped my mail for me.
