No SoundHi all after some adventures with 6.0.4 beta 3, I have now upgraded to beta 4 where everything seems to work so far except sound. I have tried depmod -a to no avail and when I try to increase the volume, Mepis reports that the mixer cannot be found. Can anyone tell me where I have gone wrong? Regards »

Also report the card to Warren because he upgraded alsa package, that might be a problem introduced by that upgrade.

Same problem here
I had the same problem when I upgraded to Beta 4 the other day. I can't remember where I was exactly (I'm at work now) but I noticed that when I went into Kcontrol and looked in the sound settings there was no device set for sound. I changed it to alsa and rebooted the computer. Sound worked after that.

Thanks for the help lads. I have been out for a walk and when I just now started the pc I found that Kmix was working and I now have sound.
