What exact packages should I

What exact packages should I install from Synaptic to enable Flash in Firefox?

I searched for "flash" in Synaptic and installed the obvious packages but Firefox is still prompting me to install the correct plugin when I visit sites with Flash.

Also, if I install the Flash packages as root/su, will they be available for all users on the system that browse with Firefox?

Any direction would be appreciated! Thanks!

In a stock MEPIS install,

In a stock MEPIS install, Flash is already enabled. If it doesn't wor for you, you have either:
- inadvertently removed it
- installed a local version of Firefox with a different plugin folder

Newbie or not Newbie, there's always a question

Thanks for the fast reply

Thanks for the fast reply carlops!

I'm not sure if I Inadvertently removed Flash or if I installed a local version of Firefox. How can I determine what my situation is and what would be the first steps to fix Flash in each situation?

Would re-installing Firefox via Synaptic be considered a local version?

Reinstalling FF should not be a problem.

I'm using 6.5 and when I search for flash I get:
flashplugin-nonfree
kipi-plugins
konqueror
liborange0

Those are the only things I have installed for flash.
Good Luck!
