Network Printing to Apple Airport Base Station USB Printer

I am trying to print to my Canon iP3000 which is attached to my Apple Airport base station. I have successfully used Bonjour for Windows to get my Windows XP machine to do this and my MaxOSX machines do this natively.

How do I do this in Mepis. I thought that the ZeroConfig area would do this as it appears to be the Linux implementation of the Bonjour standard but I cannot seem to get this working.

I found this on the Web for Ubuntu

http://ldopa.net/2006/07/24/linux-airport-printing/

but I cannot find how to do the equivalent in Mepis.

Any ideas ?

Airport Printing Solved!

I have managed to get this working using a similar method to that in the reference I quoted in the last post.

In Mepis when adding a printer/printer class in settings/peripherals/printers choose the Network TCP option then fill in the IP address of the Airport Base station that the Printer is attached to and the port number that is open for the printer (on a Mac you can use the network utilities application to Port Scan the Airport Base Station IP address. In my case it was slightly different to the one stated in the article referenced above). Then it is just a case of chossing an appropriate printer driver.
