cannot use encryption with network card

Hi All
I have been successfully using my Belkin pci card F5D7000 vers6000 with my Sitecom router WL-173 for some time now without encryption and I now want to use encryption. I have read a number of forum topics and have tried to use Network Assistant, but no matter what form of encryption (WEP, WPA, WPA2) I try, with whatever form (ASCII or HEX) and of whatever length (5 to 26 chars), I cannot get my card to communicate with the router. Am I missing something in the set up?. Any help would be appreciated.
Regards, George

Have you already read the

Have you already read the lengthy section in the Wiki?

http://www.mepis.org/docs/en/index.php/Wireless_connection

Different users seem to report different clients (Knetworkmanager, Kwlan, Wifi-radar, etc.) that work for them, so check around.

Thanks Jerry I read through

Thanks Jerry
I read through it, set up Kwifimanager, but it did not work.
I downloaded wifi-radar, installed it but I could not get it to start
I reverted to Network Assistant, and it appears to work. Could the setting up of Kwifimanager have influenced the set up of Network Assistant?

I think I have tested the security of my system with Quicken. Is there any other way to test it?

Regards George

The Devil is in the detail.
