Beryl 3D Desktop Integration Tests
The Beryl 3D integration is ready for testing. Here are some brief instructions for getting started. Visit the forums to get guidance and to share your experiences with others.
Run Settings>Appearance>Splash Screen and set your ksplash to None, then, with Synaptic, install a new package, mepis-beryl. If you have never tried beryl before, you will also need to install the beryl and emerald packages. If you have been experimenting with beryl, delete any custom launcher files and the .beryl and .emerald directories in your home directory. Then logout and in the login GUI you will find a new option in Sessions called KDE with 3D, select this and login.
Do NOT run BerylManager, except as an experiment. It does not play well with KDE. The Aquamarine decorator also does not play well with KDE.
