libGL warning 3D driver claims not to support visual 0x4b

Since MEPIS 6.51beta the default Xserver for my ATI 9600 Radeon chip has been R300.

It produces the error msg mentioned in the subject line. Research shows that ALL of the major distros are experiencing this problem and that the fix is in the 2.6.20 kernel.

Checking my install I see that MEPIS uses the 2.6.15-27 kernel which, while stable, is rather old.

When does Warren think that the 2.6.20 kernel will appear in MEPIS?
