Skype Sound

The current bata (6.5 b7) is working fine. While I was delighted to see that Skype is included in the default instllation, I still can't use it. This does not appear to be a problem associated with Mepis, as my sound card, a Soundblaster Audigy SE, is still not fully supported under Linux. Sound is working but the Mic. input is non-functional. Can anyone recommend a cheap sound card that is currently working for them under Mepis/Skype? I am not looking for HiFi audio quality... just an inexpensive way to communicate with friends. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
