Request pouetChess

I'm a newbie here, but I have installed Simplymepis 6.5 RC1 and found that everything just works!
Now I only miss the pouetChess game (http://pouetchess.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page).
I have found that is available only in Ubuntu Edgy repositories, and I can't use it with Mepis. Sad
Can we have this as a Mepis package? Eye-wink
Please! Please! Laughing out loud

Many thanks for this great linux distro!
Frederic

This is what I've done so far:

Create an /opt directory
Downloaded http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/pouetchess/pouetchess_bin_0.2.0.tar.gz?download to /opt
Extracted download tar.gz to it's own directory
Ran /opt/pouetchess_bin_0.2.0/bin/pouetChess

It appears to work fine at this point...might give the above a try.

My occupation?
Well, computer geek-stuff, mostly. I could tell you all about it; but, then I would have to delete you.

Thanks for the fast reply! I

Thanks for the fast reply!

I have already tried this, but it don't works. I started it from console, apparently tried to start, but the only result was: Aborted.

What do I need (or which packages) to make a deb package for Mepis from the sources? Previously I have made just some Slackware packages, and I don't know how to do it with Mepis.
