kmymoney2 crashes after upgrade

WARNING to those who use kmymoney.

After I upgraded several packages kmymoney crashes.
I don't remember all upgrades but one package had something to do with banking and I suspect this caused the problem. I should of known better!
I haven't solved the problem yet.
I have tried reinstalling kmymoney but haven't had time to try anything else.

Does anyone else know a solution other than not upgrading the banking package?

As a side note debian etch has the 8.5 version of kmymoney which seems to work faster and better.

Just ran into the same problem

I just ran into the same problem myself. I've been researching it at bugs.kde.org, it seems that it's a problem with version 0.8.2 that's in the Dapper repos. Kubuntu users are having problems with it too.

I don't know if there is a backport of a newer version.

libkbanking1 upgrade is the

libkbanking1 upgrade is the problem or its dependencies.

if you do not upgrade libkbanking1 kmymoney will still work (at least on my laptop).

I think what happened was when Warren created the gnucash package the requirements for it conflict with kmymoney. Is it possible to correct this?

If you leave libkbanking1 at the ubuntu dapper version and don't upgrade to the 2.2.3-3mepis1 version kmymoney appears to work.

I looked into upgrading to the debian etch version .8.5 of kmymoney but it wanted to upgrade too many other packages and I was afraid it might cause more problems than it was worth. I may try this again on another machine when I can and where I can't cause damage.

TO get kmymoney back in working order I removed all packages associated with 2.2.3-3mepis1.

forced install of the ubunutu version of libkbanking1.

locked version of libkbanking to the ubuntu version.

installed kmymoney2 (I had removed it so this may not be needed)

As ByCo said this is more a problem with the ubuntu repos. than with mepis. Based on my experience with the newer version of kmymoney on debian etch the repos need to be upgraded to the newer version.

I have just encountered the problem. I did not see that this was a problem from way back. Is there a better or faster way of implementing the solution mentioned by rich above.
