Recognition of and mounting drives - and boot up

Hi there,

Relase Candidate 2

I think the recognition of and mounting drives is really bad. For example, if I boot up with my usb memory stick attached, it isn't recognised. I have unattach and reattach it. Also, on the desktop there is an icon for cd/dvd. When I put a disc in my first dvd it is mounted and the contents available through this icon. However, if I leave the disc there and put a disc in my second drive, it is not mounted and is not viewable.

Boot up is really bad as well. Every time I arrive at the graphical login screen it has been a voyage of discovery. Sometimes the I can easily read the text on teh screen, sometimes it is well out of focus. Sometimes the screen is flickering, and sometimes I arrive at the command line. However, on every occasion I arrive at the screen, the resolution is wrong.

Sorry there's not a lot of technical backup to this, but I amsimply a user - and i can't use it in its current state.

Cheers
