Beryl Hotcorners
I have both Beryl-Settings-Manager (main) and Beryl-Settings-Manager(simple) installed. 6.5 rc2 up-to-the-minute.
I prefer (simple) to (main) since it *appears* simple.
I suspect ignoring the installed (main) is a mistake.
I think, behind the scenes it is over-riding choices specified in (simple). My posting about a ghost in Firefox was one example. I have another.
Using simple, set-up three (hot) corners for 'no action' and one for "all workspaces' then close the gui. Come back later and change 'Effects Level' from 3 to 4 for example. Try this out, then go back to 3. In my case back at level 3, all four corners now have new settings unlike what I started with. You can reset the (simple) gui, but you can't be sure that you are resetting (main). The ghost example shows this.
(main) and (simple) need to be better coordinated, I think.
I dont see any way to dis-install (main) without dis-installing Beryl.
Any comments?

Had the same thing happen to me, except simple interfered with my main settings. I just ignore simple, never use it now. The main setting tool is much more powerful.

Rich,
Thanks for the comment.
(main) intimidates me.
It also insults my 800x600 display.
But I suspect it is _not_to_be_ignored_

It is pretty intimidating.
It is pretty intimidating. There are so many options. I am only still scratching the surface and find out new things every day. Too bad there isn't a cheat sheet somewhere. maybe there is on the Beryl site. I don't mean full docs, which there are, but a command/function list.

For the other plugins

Dont be intimidated, you can mess with settings in main and revert back to default by erasing [settings] in [/home/user/.beryl] then logging out. When you log back in it should have reverted to default setting.
I would choose main or simple and stick to one and if you want to backup your settings, just save a copy of setting from /home/user/.beryl so you can always go back to the way you like it.

lowboyblue,
Thanks for your comments.
I started this thread to see if anyone else has hotcorner problems. I guess not. I was also hoping to provoke Warren to fix Beryl Settings Manager (simple).
I appreciate your suggestions to 'mess with the settings' but thats not my usual style. I do this all the time, but I _never_ admit it.
The Wiki page is part of the intimidation I don't like. Skillions of undefined terms. Most sciences have only about three terms that you have to take on faith. The other terms are usually well defined in an orderly sequence.
For example, I _know_ what a plug-in is. I don't know which ones Beryl has, nor if I ought to be getting more. I expect I have 'the cube', because I can do that. Is 'magic lantern' a plug-in? I can do that. I've got rubber screens, kapow animations, negative screens. Have I got everything I might be interested in? Who knows?
One thing the _Beryl_ guys ought to fix is the 800x600 display. The window is too large to fit, and guess what?
Some of the controls are off-screen when you need them.
Thanks for the idea on how to save the defaults.
I'm going to read the wiki now and mess with some settings.

mbeltagy,
Thank you for your comment.
I achieved somewhat the same effect from
System->More Applications->Beryl Settings Manager
Select General options, then Screen Edges (Tab)
Then under Bottom Right Corner,
Replace (whatever else was there) with 'None'
My worry is, using (simple) and trying to ignore (main),
What other spooky things are going on that we don't know about?
As you and I now know, you can't ignore BSM (main) and make all your choices with BSM (simple) and not be surprised at times.
