ATI Drivers (AGP) or (PCI)

Are the drivers gotten by Synaptic for the Radeon (ATI) able to be used with the PCI slot graphic cards or are they only good for use with the AGP slot graphic cards???
One more thing, every single time I set up mepis to use the PCI slot it crashes after somewhat booting. Please let there be a solution to this because my micro-ATX board doesn't have an AGP slot (stupid me for buying such equipment)!!!
