DHCP stopped working after updates

I installed Mepis bets 7 and it was working great. I did a dist-upgrade and everything went fine, but now when I boot up DHCP is no longer working. I have to open terminal and type dhclient eth0.

How can I make this automatic again?

Open mnetwork (in Mepis

Open mnetwork (in Mepis utilities or in a console) and you'll see an option to check eth to startat startup. This often happens after an upgrade of Mepis utilities.

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

That option is greyed out,

That option is greyed out, both as root and as user. In the GUI, Have not yet had a chance to try it via console.

Well im thinking your dist-upgrade has Ubuntuized your install. Looks like a good reason to come up to rc3 or hang tough a while for 6.5 final. Its usually safer to just do an upgrade with Mepis due to the repos being Ubuntu.

How about adding a "dhclient

How about adding a "dhclient eth0" line into one of the startup rc. files? and which one?
