2 suspend to disk questions

Following Carlops method (now in the Wiki: http://www.mepis.org/docs/en/index.php/Suspend) I was able to suspend my Dell 700m without problem.

Left me with two questions.
1) is there a way to automate the procedure? Sequence could be something like: laptop detected (or indicated during install) + swap known from install (or user change) = menu.lst altered
2) when I resumed, wireless no longer worked and no futzing around with Network Assistant would do the trick, so finally rebooted. Winmodem with chipset bcm4306. Anyone else seen this?

Thanks.

1. dev question, but I think

1. dev question, but I think so. It is even possible to set swap file parameter in a powersave conf file, so yeah
2. Are you using the bcm4306 module? Then tweak the /etc/powersave/sleep file to unload that module before suspend to disk and/or suspend to ram. That should do the trick.

try also with manual settings in mepis network tools, that way you can find out if the module or network manager is the culprit.

Newbie or not Newbie, there's always a question

Thanks, Carlops.

Re 1: I sent that message to Warren, and here is his response: "This has been in the installer for a while. I just checked my latest installs and they all have the resume argument in the grub entries. I don't
understand why it would not be there in your grub."

This is curious, b/c I have a clean install of RC3. Can anybody confirm that with RC3 installed on a laptop the argument "resume /dev/hdax" is included in the kernel line of menu.lst?
