SOLVED: KMenuEdit as user does not save menu changes.

Fresh install and update of RC3.

But, it saves changes when run as root.

SOLVED: I usually leave my laptop on all day. When I rebooted this morning the changes I had made yesterday appeared in the menu!

In previous releases of MEPIS, when you used KMenuEdit to change the menu you'd get a progress bar showing as the changes were made. No reboot (or at least restart of the desktop) was necessary. As it currently works, there is NO response of any kind when the save button is pressed. But, in root things still work the way it used to.

Works fine here.....

Hi,

This is something that I always check, on each and every beta, rc and release, clean installed and updated.
But I have NOT found the condition you describe in any of them. Not very helpful, I know.

Install the vmplayer app and see if you can still save menu changes as a user. No guest OS need be installed.

You stated that your problem occurred on a clean install of 6.5 RC3.... (??)
