Creative SB AWE64 PnP not working in Mepis 6.5

I recently upgraded to SimplyMepis 6.5. I did a clean install over my existing SimplyMepis 6.0 installation, including a new home directory. The only software that I added were the updates listed in Synaptic, isapnptools, some alsa utilities, awesfx, and acroread. I really like what I've seen so far. It feels noticeably faster than the 6.0 version and has a better selection of screen resolutions. I have run into one problem. I can't get my Creative SB AWE64 PnP to work. It is an older ISA Sound Blaster sound card. It worked great under Mepis versions 3.4.3 and 6.0. In version 6.5 the snd-sbawe kernel module generates a FATAL error when I try to modprobe snd-sbawe. Below I have reproduced some of the output from a root terminal session. This is the first time that snd-sbawe has failed when I tried to use it. Please let me know if you need any further information. I really would like to get this card working again.
