Japanese IT's are moving forward to dump MS and go open source Linux.
They were looking at it back in 2002, n
From what I could find out, MEPIS 6.5 does not have Japanese language
support at this date. I do see Japanese support on the old MEPIS 3.3
on teh distrowatch page.
I think if the business side of MEPIS saw the business possiblities,
this could be a large market for them. More $$$$ for MEPIS is good
for everyone.

I am really sick and tired of only seeing Redhat certification
requirements on job postings, or offered at Colleges (as if Redhat
is the best).
I just installed the latest Fedora for a network College course I am taking.
For Gawd sakes, Fedora is still using command line (CLI) to do the install.
IMHO: Redhat/Fedora is still crap when compared to "today's" Linux.
I see billboard ads in my Silicon Valley, CA area (off Hwy 101) promoting
Ubuntu Server Linux, and there are other ads for other distros. Yet, Redhat
still gets the visibility when anyone think's Linux.
When I worked at Symantec for a few years, the Development and QA engineers
I talked to that used Linux in their job, Redhat is all they knew. Even
they had no idea of what new Linux Distros are now available and the huge
difference there is in what they know of then, and today's Linux.
It is a long hard climb, but most of it is re-educating the masses of not
only that Linux is here and now, but the Redhat of old, is just that: old,
and there are much better Linux distros to be had than crappy Redhat.
