Ok so i have had major headaches with this laptop including a techie needing to put a 2200 motherbord in 5 months after i got the darn thing. So i brought it to my brother the computer repair guy to fix windows which was repectavly dead nearly, so he put in XP Media and said activate it. Tough concidering the COA melted off one month in (dont we just LOVE dell?) well he gave me a mepis disk after fully corrupting my windows XP and said "you figure it out" Jawdropping!..... -__-;;;;

So, here is the inital problem:

I have a Wireless LAN Card (Dell Wireless 1350)

I plug it in and it recignises it, but no connection..

Boot the CD and login as

Boot the CD and login as root, or boot from the hard drive and login as root.

Got it?

OK.

You've probably already discovered that KDE has what's called the 'K Menu' which is pretty-much like the 'Start Menu' in windoze, but lacks the implicit contradiction of using something called a "Start Menu" to shut the computer down.

Click on K Menu, select System, select Konsole

Type-in

lspci -v

' and hit enter. Highlight all that text you get back, and dump it into a text file. You can jump drive it to another machine or, if you have a Cat5 Internet connection to the laptop, save the file and post the information here, while you're logged in as a regular user.

Please don't use an Internet connection while logged in as root.
