SimplyMEPIS Localized French and Spanish CDs Ready for Testing
Morgantown, WV, May 20, 2007 -- MEPIS has announced test versions of new French and Spanish 32 bit CDs for SimplyMEPIS 6.5. The new ISOs are available at MEPIS online mirrors in the testing directory. Suggestions and fixes should be submitted at the appropriate forum, http://www.mepis-france.org or http://www.mepisimo.com
The new French and Spansih CDs are based on the latest SimplyMEPIS 6.5 32 bit CD. The preinstalled localizations include the MEPIS Assistants, the new Getting Started documentation, KDE, Firefox, myspell, and OpenOffice. Additional localizations are available for installation from the online pools or the MEPIS 32 bit DVD.
Warren Woodford of MEPIS said: "This test release of the translated CDs were possible due to the hard work of the Spanish translation team led by carlops and the French translation team led by jessminder. Thanks everybody! We know there is more to be done, that's why the ISOs were released in the testing directory and not the released directory. We expect to have a final release in a couple of weeks."
The new ISO images are available in the 'testing' subdirectory at the MEPIS Subscriber's Site and at the MEPIS public mirrors. For immediate access to new releases, and to support the development of MEPIS, why not go to the MEPIS store and become a MEPIS subscriber? CDs, DVDs, t-shirts, sport shirts, and MEPIS penguins are also available at www.mepis.org/store
