Dual CPU, Dual nVidia GPU, 2 GB RAM, configuring SLI mode

I managed to get SLI working with MEPIS 6.5 installed on a new system with 2 GB RAM, dual core CPU, and two nVidia video cards. This specific hardware configuration caused problems for configuring SLI mode even after I got the official nVidia driver installed and working.
