USB Wifi ADSL

Good Morning,
My computer has XP with an USB Wifi adapter to connect to the Internet.
I just set up MEPIS6.5 and tried to connect it to the Internet.......Unsuccessfull Sad
I've ONE onboard ethernet card for my LAN. But I see in InfoCenter eth0 and eth1.
When I type :
ifconfig wifi0 up
I get No Device.
I missunderstand, can you help me?

Not to worry

Welcome to MEPIS! Please go through these basic steps in the Wiki:

http://www.mepis.org/docs/en/index.php/Adjust_the_wireless_connection

Let us know what happens--good luck.

Right connected to the Internet :-)

Thanks Jerry for the link.
I gave up the wireless connection. Instead I used a wired USB as I have still USB port available at my modem/router.
Anyway I learnt a lot these last days.
I've to set up Samba now to access the Windows shared folders on the other desktop.

When I right click on KNetworkManager the system tray icon, I've either my LAN network (ethernet card onboard) or Internet connexion (the USB wired one) but not both (I see in the system tray the 2 icons network notify which swapping with the red cross when I choose either one or other in the KNetworkManager context menu).

May I switch on both at startup?

Regards,
Olivier.
