SheepShaver install problems

Hi,
I'm trying to install SheepShaver on my Mepis 6.0.1

I've downloaded the source from their site, uncompressed it and tried the ./autogen.sh command that they say I should run. This is the result:

root@2[Unix]# ./autogen.sh
+ Running aclocal: aclocal: configure.ac: 250: macro `AM_PATH_GTK_2_0' not found in library
aclocal: configure.ac: 270: macro `AM_PATH_GTK' not found in library
aclocal: configure.ac: 298: macro `AM_PATH_ESD' not found in library
done.
+ Running autoheader: done.
+ Running autoconf: done.
+ Running 'configure ':
** If you wish to pass arguments to ./configure, please
** specify them on the command line.
configure: error: cannot run /bin/sh ./config.sub

I tried downloading an RPM file. I double click it, and it opens in KPackage. I click install and I get this:

warning: user gb does not exist - using root
warning: group gb does not exist - using root
< this is repeated about 6 times >
RESULT=0

I have no idea who "gb" is.

I've not been able to find any help on the SheepShaver sites.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Don
Can anyone tell me what to do next?

You could try converting to deb

Mepis uses the deb package system. You can convert an .RPM package to a .DEB with alien. I'm not at my own machine just now and my memory for command parameters is pretty notorious so I would recommend you to enter alien into the search box and you will find the details somewhere.

You could also try searching google for your filename and include the word deb in the query.

That's good to know. Yes I

<>

That's good to know.

Yes I did try to run it, but I get a message saying "no such file or directory"

I think for the time being I'm just going to continue using my 10 year old Mac. It's really not that much trouble going back and forth. I had just thought it might be more convenient all in one computer.

Thanks for your help,

Don
