Super Job on 6.5.02 GRUB installation

Warren and Team:

I just wanted to let you know that I think you did a super job on how you handled GRUB installation in SimplyMEPIS 6.5.02

I saw in the news announcement where you made improvements for Vista detection and more.

But, I didn't realize how good it was for detecting other Operating System, too.

I play around with other Linux distros frequently, and I usually end up editing /boot/grub/menu.lst to get the boot choices I want after a new install of another Linux distro.

Well, I decided to install Fedora 7 Final yesterday to play with it, and it didn't add SimplyMEPIS to the available boot choices.

I'm used to that (earlier versions of SimplyMEPIS and many other Linux distros behave the same way).

Rather than edit /boot/grub/menu.lst file in the Fedora partition, I decided to use the Mepis System Assistant to reinstall the Grub Boot Loader after booting into a SimplyMEPIS 6.5.02 Live CD.

To my surprise, I had entries like these in my boot menu after I rebooted, rather than a simple Windows option with no other Linux distros on the drive showing up at all, which is the typical behavior I see in many distros, including earlier versions of SimplyMEPIS. But, after the SimplyMEPIS choices, I saw these included, too. Super.

Great Job with the GRUB installation used in 6.5.02. It's nice to see better recognition of other Operating Systems, with those choices added to /boot/grub/menu.lst without the need to edit it.
