Install 6.5.02 and ATI

Graphic: ATI Mobility Radeon X700
I had downloaded the ISO of SimplyMEPIS 6.5.02, burn it and then reboot my Computer.
When I use "default" in the boot-mennu, I don't see the Splash Screen. It is all over a black screen.
When I use "VESA", or so, I see the Text-Mode.
1. How can I have a graphical Version
2. How can I install Mepis with the Text-Mode

THX, the code "xdrvr=fbdev" is the right...now SimplyMEPIS 6.5.02 is on my Laptop and it's graphical

Cheat code

At the opening screen, press F3 to select your resolution -- it sometimes helps to select 1024x768 if yours doesn't work
You probably need a cheat code to get a graphical login
You add these codes to the end of the kernel boot line (cursor will be there) after vga=791 (or whatever is at the end of the line)
try
xdrvr=ati
xdrvr=fbdev
Once you are able to install you should get the fglrx driver

P.S. -- someone needs to add a list of all the current cheat codes and how to use them to the Wiki -- can the mods get Warren to help with this? I have had experiences where it may be difficult to get 6.5.02 to boot to a graphical login -- a text mode installer could also help. TIA
