Pidgin and Miro

Back in March there was a request here for GAIM 2.0 (now Pidgin) that I would like to re-iterate. I would also like support for Miro (formerly Democracy). Miro has released an Ubuntu repository for Miro, but only Feisty, not Dapper, and the older version of Democracy available for Dapper doesn't work on Mepis anyhow.

Check over in

Check over in mepislovers.org Package Sharing section for compiled Pidgen .debs. Also there IS a Miro dapper repository:

deb http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/pculture.org/miro/linux/repositories/ubuntu/ dapper/

Miro runs well on my box, but can't load the Miro Guide. However, in Firefox visit www.miroguide.com and the "add channel" buttons will add the channel to Miro automatically.

I swear I tried the Miro

I swear I tried the Miro dapper repos before posting this and nothing was there...
It's there now, and installs without a problem, but it segfaults for me just like the older version of Democracy did.

I'll give Pidgin a shot later. Thanks for the reply!

Nothing to see here. Move along.
