Enlarging scrollbar

Can someone help me to enlarge the scrollbar on the right side of the screen and also on the top of the screen where the minamize and close program (x) are. When I am using programs like Firefox etc. These things are to small. Have tried different themes and different items in the appearance section with no luck so far. In windows you could adjust them sepperatly.
Also I have a Dynex wired mouse with forward and back buttons for the internet that do not work. The rest of the mouse functions work fine. Any thoughts. These functions work on my windows machine

Certain of the Styles in

Certain of the Styles in Appearance & Themes (i.e. Polyester) allow you to configure the side scrollbar size. The Titlebar at the top of each window is controlled by Window Decorations, and again, certain of these will let you configure its size.
