Setting up Visioneer OneTouch 7300 USB Scanner

I have a Visioneer OneTouch 7300 USB Scanner that I'm having trouble setting up. I've downloaded SANE and KOOKA to my machine. When I attempt to engage the scanner using KOOKA (the KDE software), it is unable to connect to the scanner. I'm instructed to properly install SANE. I downloaded/installed SANE using the Synaptic installer. Has anyone else been on this journey?

Thanks a bunch,

Bluemax_36

That's supposed to work fine

--What version of MEPIS are you using? If not the latest, then I would recommend you get 6.5
--I have had more luck with xsane (also in Synaptic) than Kooka, though if there really is a problem with sane it probably won't make any difference
--Here is a ref about missing firmware that might be useful:

Hope something here helps.
