There appear to be 2 solutions for improving Linux performance on Via Mini-itx computers. Both require replacing stock via drivers.
The Via web site has recent kernel level drivers for several distros. Then there is the openchrome.org method documented somewhere on the Mepis site.
I am reluctant to try these because I have had mixed success with similiar projects in the past so I am hoping they will eventually become part of a Mepis distro.
I found Mepis attached to a LinuxUser & Developer mag... Excellent distro.
