I'm just going to say this once 'cause I know it annoys you: you created much of the foundation on which this rests...so thanks from the whole community!
Minor page rendering problem in IE6
Posts: 1027
The page rendering is excellent in Opera, Firefox, and Konqueror
In IE6 the pages are not centered, they show up on the right with blank space on the left, need to use left arrow to move the text and read the pages easily. This is minor and I'm not sure how to fix it. Possibly it was something about how my work PC is set up and I should try on another box in IE6.
I have not tried it in IE7 or on a Mac

Other people reported that problem with IE, authors are working to solve that. This comes one more time (if it was needed) to show how crappy IE is -- and how it wastes people time with its lack of respect for standards.

Works Fine on Mac with Safari

Hey guys, I just did a quick scan through the manual. It looks very, very good. Excellent work!
And it renders just fine on a Macbook with Safari. Ya gotta love standards, especially when they're followed.
I'm curious about what things will be found in the documentation that causes IE to display it like cr*p. I hope it's something extremely easy to fix.
Jon
The ability to comfortably use a computer is directly proportional to desire to listen, learn, and experiment, and is inversely proportional to the fear, anger, and stubbornness that you show.
Thanks, Jon

I have actually asked a friend of mine--a professional consultant in this area--to look at it, and hope he will give us a clue while we concentrate on finishing the beta.

Outstanding work (sorry I couldn't contribute)
Nitpicking
-----------
In section 2.2 it says "If this happens, the ISO may be unusually small or it may give cloop errors when a CD is booted." -- I'm not even sure if MEPIS uses cloop anymore, does it? I think that was valid for MEPIS 3.4 and older.
Section 3.5 "but no more than 1 Gb (1024 MB)." -- you should change Gb to GB (it Giga Bytes not Giga bites).
"you can try a similar program QTParted that's also installed" -- I don't think QTParted is installed in PreBeta it might not be in the final either.
Section 4.3.1 -- using other machine to install you need to mention that they might need to reinstall X config and GRUB using the Live CD (GRUB might be needed to be reinstalled if the HD schema is different on the other machine, X config if there's a different video card)
Somewhere in installation section, or troubleshooting should be mentioned that the computer shouldn't be overclocked.
Section 4.4 "you failed to mark at least one partition bootable (a.k.a. "active") during custom partitioning of the hard drive." -- I don't think that active partition matters in Linux it never mattered for me. Can anyone confirm/infirm?
Again, outstanding work! Sorry that some annoying persons were not able to participate
