Upgraded Video Card....
Let me state...I am clearly not a hardware configuration genius!!!!
Now for the problem.... I upgraded the video card on an old Powerspec PC with Intel Pentium III processor. It isn't much of an upgrade, but it's an 3D Fuzion Nvidia GeForce MX 4000 (PCI card). The internal Intel video card has been disabled. Windows XP runs great with it on hdb. I am trying to get Mepis 6.5 to load and I get no video after the original log on screen and loading of the kernel. After the kernel loads the top of the screen looks like this....
[17179570.7080007] PCI: cannot allocate resource region 0 of device 0000:00:02.0
Then it start loading Mepis....the splashy screen comes up and shows Mepis loading and when it finishes it goes black and you see nothing else.
Any help greatly appreciated.

I am booting from cd...I am trying to install Mepis to a new hard disk, which will be HDA.....Presetting to 1024x768 works with the old internal video card. I think this is a pci slot issue and I only have 2 pci slots with which to deal with on this old computer. I have an ethernet card in PCI slot 2 and the NVIDIA card in PCI slot 1. I have switched them and that doesn't help. i have tried everything in the bios as well...None of which worked, so I reset the bios back to defaults.
Does it work if you boot

Does it work if you boot from CD (in that case reinstall X config file from MEPIS Assistants), if not try other option, like "vesa".
