mepis 7 iso big file

Have Mandriva with KB3 to download the iso for mepis 7 from a mirror linked to Distrowatch. A window tells me the mepis file name is too long and must be reduced. I click yes, burn starts, the dvd is empty.
Thanks

Exactly Which File?

Exactly which file are you trying to download? Once you get the file, open a terminal window and "cd" to where you have downloaded the file. Also, download the file that ends in ".md5sum" for that image. Then, do the command "md5sum -c nameofthefileendingin.md5sum" (no quotes). it will compare the sum of the actual .iso file with the value stored in the .md5sum file. if they are NOT IDENTICAL then you do not have a complete file; download it again.

When you burn it, IT MUST BE AN IMAGE, not just a "copy" of the file. K3B allows you to do that. There should be absolutely no changing of file names or information.

Sounds like you burned a data disk, and K3b complained regarding the joliet maximum lengt of the file name...
