[SOLVED] Как обновиться с Mepis6.5 на 7beta

Волею судьбы поставил себе Mepis, дистрибутив понравился, поразила скорость инсталяции, но мне нужен для работы python2.5 в репозитариях его нет, установка из отдельных пакетов, тянет целый шлейф зависимостей, хотелость бы это сделать стандартно через apt-get, информации на сайте как это сделать не нашел.

Difficult question. Python 2.5 on MEPIS 6.5 will cause problems.
You could install 7 beta2, but it is a beta, so things can go wrong.. Better wait until 7 is final

6.5 uses an Ubuntu core and 7.0 betas use a Debian core.
And they are not compatible. Upgrading from 6.5 to 7.0 betas (using the changed repositoties) would kill the Mepis 6.5 installation.
I wouldn't know about Python2.5 though - if that is what you really need.

I'm glad to find that you were impressed with the speed of installation. As has been mentioned earlier, 7.0 is currently in beta, and there are probably no compatible packages from which to install Python 2.5 to a 6.5 or 7.x-beta installation at this time.
You will have best luck in converting an RPM or installing from source:
http://www.python.org/download/
The most current version is 2.5.1, and you will, most likely, be looking for this source distribution archive:
http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.5.1/Python-2.5.1.tar.bz2
...and, welcome to MEPIS.

I'm afraid there are no users here who have a working understanding of your Russian language. Reading/writing your Cyrillic characters is too difficult.
Try English/German/French/Spanish/Dutch....
