You give little info. Please specify:
- exact MEPIS version
- what kind of CD are you trying to mount
I will give some general hints, though.
If you work with MEPIS 6.5 (so not 6.5.02), there was a known problem with CD drives. Update from the repos (mark all upgrades), that should help
If you try to mount a music CD, you can't. Just play it with the music player of your choice.
