Mp3 player mount, printer setup, and Settings???

Please forgive me for combing 4 topics in 1 post, but I just rebooted back to Mepis 6.5 after trying 7 beta 4 since last night on my wife's PC. I have 2 show stoppers 1 minor issue, and a question.

Show stopper 1 - Printer setup utility wouldn't let me add a printer as user, so I logged in as root, but the USB printer radio button was grayed out.

Show stopper 2 - I connected my wife's Sandisk MP3 player and it mounted OK and opened Konqueror fine, but it only let me remove 1 file and non of the others, even though it showed me as owner. I opened file manager super user - same problem. I rebooted to 6.5 and could manage the files at will as user.

Minor Issue - My USB Logitech keyboard is non-functional at the grub splash, so I have to edit GRUB menu to slect which OS I'm booting to.

Question - What happened to Settings?
