I will enhance that wiki entry a bit....
Ksensors also depends on modules that allow interaction with hardware sensors. Laptop are notoriously bad in that respect, but many desktop mobos come with standardized hardware sensors that supply info such as mobo temperature, cpu temp, graphics chip temp, fan speed, voltage etc.
To activate these sensors, you need to do the following:
- open a console
- su to root
- run sensors-detect
- the sensors-detect will start asking some questions about which type of sensors you wish to poll. Just accept the default answers and let it check all possible sensor types. - If sensors are detected, you will be asked if the modules should be added to the modules load file (/etc/modules). Answer yes here as well.
- Reboot the machine and do the Ksensors configure routine again. You should now have access to extra system info as mentioned above.

Configure it

You probably don't have any of the available options turned on.
Right click on the KSensors icon in your system tray and select configure from it's menu.
Then, go to System Information and make sure the Visible box is checked for the items you want to display.
Note that you will need to click Apply after you check the box for each item. Otherwise, it won't remember it when you go to the next item.
Then, when you click on KSensors, you should see your selected items. If not, maximize the screen and you should be able to move the items around (try moving them to the upper left corner and then resize as desired).
