Pretty please! Could MEPIS 7.0 support Intel 536EP modems as MEPIS 6.5 did?

For those of us unfortunate enough to have to use dialup from time to time, it was a blessing when support for Intel 536EP modems was added to the MEPIS 6.5 repos. I got MEPIS 6.5 working with several PCI internal modems based on this chipset. They might be winmodems, but they are cheap and cheerful and worked well with the MEPIS 6.5 provided drivers. I know that at MepisLovers a few other folk were interested in using the 536EP modems with MEPIS 6.5.
If would be great if MEPIS 7.0 could avoid orphaning these poor cards ...

I emailed a request to a couple days ago when someone mentioned the Intel 536EP dialup modem in another thread.
I asked if a precompiled kernel module package could be preinstalled or at least included in the Mepis 7 repo's.
I think that is the appropriate channel to make a request of this type. (But at this time I've had no response)
