And yes I know it's still 'beta' but...

The following was the 'bottom line question' after explaining what I had encountered...

"So are others encountering similar?"

After some days of hassle I didn't want/need any lengthy techodrama or 'how dare you challenge mepis' type answers - all I wanted to know was WHETHER anyone else was experiencing similar.

IF it was only me then I needed to look further in my own ball park.

But from some of the responses I won't bother to ask in the future.

Hello

Please give the folks here a little more info. What kind of computer/chipset/motherboard are you using? Specifics on USB peripherals?

Thanks,

The Tramp

Double post

You have a thread going in MepisLovers where knowledgeable people have given you thoughtful responses, so there is no need to repeat your complaints word-for-word here.

http://mepislovers.org/forums/showthread.php?p=81110

If you actually want answers to your problems instead of just complaining, I suggest you follow the advice given you on that thread: take the issues one at a time starting with the most serious, provide details, and ask for advice.

Doh!

Thought maybe SG was just a frustrated user, hence the vitriol. He/she hasn't seen the new 2100.

The Tramp

Yeah, sorry

You posted while I was writing, and I never saw it. Didn't mean to cut into your thread...

And that's a very good reason to use either SimplyMEPIS 6.0 or 6.5, both are the most usable OS's you will find todate. Smiling

Works fine for me!

I started my experience with Unix, HP-UX, Windows (all), DesktopBSD, Mepis, Kubuntu, ... (I tried other distros too) and after 6 mounth of Fawn I switched to Mepis 7beta5.
It is the greatest for now, for me, of course!

The beta is very... stable!!!!
I have only a problem with kooka and my scanner.

Good Job Warren!!!

Yes, it's Beta. Venting ones

Yes, it's Beta.

Venting ones spleen over these issues instead of filing proper bug reports is unproductive.

It really sounds like you should be sticking with 6.5.02 until 7.0 goes final.

How's my posting?

What's more important if you

What's more important if you do test Betas is to report problems in a manner that allows them to get fixed: send a detailed description of problems (including you hardware specification) to -- don't expect response unless Warren wants some clarifications.

This is the only way you can hope a problem will be fixed in the next Beta, RC, or final.
