Full duplex sound?

Any idea how I can get full duplex sound working correctly? I'd have thought it was working since I can hear myself on the microphone whilst playing some other sound, but it doesn't seem to work with KPhone or GnomeMeeting correctly. I can only hear what the other person is sending. Neither seem to use arts though, which is odd since KPhone is supposed to be a KDE application. So, any ideas what my problem may be, and a possible solution?

Overall it seems fairly neat, though not quite perfect, the documentation is servely lacking and I've had it hang a couple of times, but generally it seems quite good. Unfortunately it's not much use if I can only hear people
.
I did start setting it up for FreeWorldDialup but then decided it'd be easier to test it between a couple of my machines, so set up my own server. I'm using SER ( http://www.iptel.org/ser/ ) from Iptel, which seems to work fairly well. I had my Mepis box connecting through KPhone and Windows Messenger connecting from another machine with no problems. Only problem is the microphone input at the Mepis end.

Hello, I've got the same problem as you. I can hear the other one speaking but can't be heard myself.
Have you already solve the problem??

I stopped having this problem when I started using ALSA instead of OSS, (and GnomeMeeting started supporting ALSA). I haven't tried kphone with ALSA though, only GnomeMeeting.

How do you like Kphone? I've been thinking of getting a headset and signing up for FreeWorldDialup.??
