detecting scsi device

Hey guys,

I have a scsi drive that I am using as my swap space but I am having a problem; that is that the computer will not detect it since I installed my new harddrive. After I put it in, the computer gives me a new error (I believe it is durring post) which I believe is just relevant if you are booting from it (I'm not). The message it gives me is:

No scsi boot device found

Also it tells me:

SCSI BIOS not installed

Now could it be because I do not have a terminator on the external port? If that is so why did the scsi drives work before? Do you think that this is why I am getting this error that sometimes appears in :

scsi1: PCI error Interrupt at seqaddr = 0x8

scsi1: Data Parity Error Detecteddurring address or write data phase

scsi1: WARNING WARNING WARNING

scsi1: Too many PCI parity errors ??observed as a target.

scsi1: Some device on this bus is generating bad parity.

??scsi1: This is an error *observed by*, not *generated by* this controller.

??scsi1: PCI parity checking has been disabled.

??scsi1: WARNING WARNING WARNING

Then this segment repeats itsself every few seconds with the '8' in the first line changing to a 7 or 9.

You know, I was relating the data parity error with the fact that my SCSI was
not working, but as I looked at it I realized that I wasn't reaading it
right.

line 6:

scsi1: This is an error *observed by*, not *generated by*, this controller.

So now my question turns into: how do I figure out what is generating the
error?

and

Why will it not see the scsi drive?

scsi

because there isn't any scsi support yet in mepis.
sorry, but you either have to recompile a kernel or wait for next release.

I am like SOOOOO embarrased.

You know, I got a message telling me about a terminator being a jumper on the scsi drive so I opened my boxto look at it. Guess what I found out? I forgot to plug it in! Now that it is pluged in I see the drives and everything in them. I don;t know what you mean about it not being supported yet; it was my swap drive prior to putting the new drive in.
