Change Log for 2003.08.01
2003.08.01 was not planned. This is primarily an installation-time improvement and bug-fixing release. If 2003.08 already installs and works for you, you do not need this update.
Here are the major changes included in 2003.08.01:
Spetember 10
Modified algorithm for calculating minimum partition sizes for an installation.
Changed Lilo to run in graphical mode with a MEPIS splash background.
September 11
Fixed problem with qtparted and MEPIS Installation Center working properly when logged in as root.
Reversed mouse entries in x config as suggested by phillip.
Put partimage on CD #1 as requested by oscar.
September 12
Added boot argument to specify keymap as requested by several users.
September 13
Expanded error reporting when Live-CD encounters insufficient RAM.
Stibs created de language files for the MPEIS utilities.
September 14
Added keyboard and locale configutation to MCC. Modified kde configuration to use defaults unless explicitly overriden.
September 15
Changed 128MB Live-CD RAM test to be a warning only.
September 18
Modified the lilo-install to determine which drives are CDROMs and to enable ide-scsi specifically for those drives.
September 19
There were occasional problems with the network startup hanging when booting the CD, yet most people just want the CD to start with the network running. In the future the network will come up by default but it can be disabled with the 'nonet' boottime argument.
Added lo (loopback) up/down control to MCC.
September 20
Due to reports that sometimes the smp kernel doesn't work but the small kernel is ok, in the future both will be included in the lilo selection list and the small kernel will be the default.
September 21
Fixed bug that caused install-lilo in MIC to crash if a logical Win partition existed.
September 22
Added de localization files for the MEPIS utilites as contributed by Stibs. Thanks Stibs!
