Linksys 802.11b USB Wireless Adapter (v2.6) not working
Posts: 4
How do I get my usb wireless working? I have a Linksys 802.11b USB Wireless Adapter (v2.6), and Mepis recognizes it on startup, but doesn't configure it. I can't seem to get this working at all. In the Mepis System Center, it says "Wireless is: not found".

Hey r0b0t, you have resurrected a three-year-old post. It would have been much better for you to have started a new thread. But since you have already started to write here, I will try to help a bit.
First, we cannot help you without further information. What type of computer do you have (make, and model). Tell us as much as you can about your computer. Next, what version of Mepis are you using? How did you get it, and is it installed on your computer or are you using the Live DVD/CD? Finally, please give us information on exactly which Linksys card or board that you have. There have been many, many versions of hardware in that line.
Give us as much information as you can, and then we can give you some pointers on what you can try
Jon
The ability to comfortably use a computer is directly proportional to desire to listen, learn, and experiment, and is inversely proportional to the fear, anger, and stubbornness that you show.

Is this the Linksys WUSB11 v 2.6 ??
If so, there are I think 2 native drivers http://at76c503a.berlios.de/ and another one ... Atmel card
I don't believe Mepis includes either one of these drivers, and I don't think ndiswrapper will work with this card.
I think you need to compile the at76c503a driver from the site above -- this link should help -- Mepis does not use sudo ...
