SB Audigy detects but doesn't work

Interesting.?? I ran the LIVECD beta5 ever since it came out with no problems...my sound worked like a top.?? So I pick up a new hard disk and give it the ol install and now the sound doesn't work.?? It detects ok...It's listed in the devices...but it doesn't play at all.?? Since I've had little debian experience and even less KDE experience, I'm at a loss for where to go with this.?? I am from the old school of Linux where it was seen and not heard.?? Can anyone help me get this puppy up and running?
