Mepis RC2 ADSL Connection

I can't connect my adsl with Mepis RC@, I get a message that the access concentrator isn't there or in use by another program (which it isn't).....I remove RC@...put RC1 back on...no probs....apart from with RC1, the button on the system center to set up the adsl connection doesn't work, this is no prob , as I just use the other ADSL connection fubction in the menu. With RC2, nothing works....I'm now getting pretty frustrated with Mepis, it beginning to seem,that with regard to the ADSL connection, the only consistency is Mepis' inconsistency.......At one point I was a huge Mepis supporter, singing it's praise to all I could latch onto.....now I can't say the same, I'm very disappointed.....I can't count on connection.....It?? should be made sure that connecting to the internet will always work, otherwise what's the point....for now, I tend to feel like just giving up.....I have yet to D/l a Mepis version where the ADSL setup worked?? the way it's supposed to (System Center)...granted before, as I have said, I found a way, but I shouldn't have to, not for something as basic as that. For now....i'll look at other things, try RC3...and hope that maybe things will be in order then, but I'm not holding my breath.
