Instability Problems with KDE in RC4

Hi, I'm using SimplyMEPIS 2004 RC4 (also used RC3) on an older computer with no exceptional hardware components.?? Unfortunately, KDE 3.2.3 on Debian seems quite unstable, epecially KWin.?? KWin almost invariably crashes if I'm using KDE for a few hours or so.?? I've also had kicker crash a few times, as well as X-server crashes (in RC3).?? I don't think it's a hardware problem, because SLAX installed to my hardrive, running KDE 3.2.0 was extremely stable.?? Is anyone else experiencing the same thing??? Thanks for the help!!
