ALSA / Audigy Sound Problems fixed!

Hello to all,

I ran across a weblog that solved the no sound problem that I was having with SimplyMEPIS. I searched this forum for the solution but was not able to find any thing that helped,. So I wanted to post what I found to hopefully help others that are having the same problem. My problem was that after booting into MEPIS either on the CD or after it was installed on the HD I had no sound. At first I thought it was a problem with the ALSA driver and my Audigy card. The wierd thing was that there were no errors with ALSA loading and KDE said that it was working fine. So I did a little Googleing and found this:

It solved my "complex" problem. All I had to do is turn the volume up through kmix! I am now enjoying beautiful sound! Hope this will help someone else as it did this noob.
